The Old House was built around 1560 and gave shelter to the famous hymn writer, Charles Wesley. If you are a couple looking for a warm, comfortable hideaway in beautiful and tranquil surroundings, this is the cottage for you!

Your flower filled front garden is shared with our farmhouse but has quiet corners and seating areas where you can relax and enjoy superb views across the hills and valleys.

  • Wonderful views of unspoilt farmland, peacefully grazing sheep and glorious hills from the front mullion windows
  • An outside shared laundry with a washing machine and tumble dryer
  • A secure locked outside room for cycles
  • An upstairs games room with table tennis
  • Safe parking a few yards from your cottage entrance
  • A small, sunny paved area outside the private entrance - perfect for sitting out with a morning cup of tea while you plan your day

We welcome you after your journey with a tray set with assorted teas, coffee, sugar and milk to enjoy while you unpack.

We provide:

  • Books, magazines and games for those quiet moments
  • Maps and guidebooks to help with planning walks and visits.
  • Masses of logs and coal.

Included in the price are:

  • Generous quantities of logs and coal for the log burner.
  • All electricity and heating by night storage and convector heaters and oil-fired central heating.
  • Fluffy bath and hand towels, also tea towels.
  • Complimentary toiletries and soaps and plenty of toilet rolls.

We welcome well behaved dogs and make a small extra charge of £10 per dog.
